YDM does not endorse candidates in primaries. YDM supports all Democratic candidates and will advertise for all of our statewide candidates who ask us to do so. YDM's role in contested primaries is to provide information to our members about Democratic candidates through written communications and candidate forums. YDM also encourages young people to educate themselves about the issues that affect them and to get active in the Democratic Party by supporting the Democratic candidates and/or issues of their choosing. On the other side of the coin, YDM seeks to serve as a resource to the Maryland Democratic Party as well as to Democratic candidates and issue advocates in Maryland. Through campaign training programs, community service projects, issue forums, and Young Democrat rallies, YDM strives to serve as a clearinghouse for well trained and informed Democratic campaign staff and volunteers. As an organization of concerned young people, in the end, YDM aims to build a better future in Maryland for all of our members and fellow young people, as we work to fulfill our ultimate role as the future leaders of the Democratic Party. I invite the Party and all its Democratic candidates to continue to utilize the resources that we offer.
